Chef

Vietflames is looking for a Chef to join the kitchen at our Vietnamese bar and eatery in Sylvia Park, Mount Wellington. We cook authentic Vietnamese food with fresh local ingredients, seven days a week from 11am until late. You will help bring those flavours to every plate, through busy lunch and dinner services. What you will do: - Prepare and cook dishes from our Vietnamese menu to recipe and presentation standards. - Run your section during busy lunch and dinner services. - Prep fresh ingredients, sauces and broths ahead of service. - Keep the kitchen clean and follow food safety and hygiene rules. - Check stock, receive deliveries and help keep waste low. - Work with the front of house team so orders go out on time. What we are looking for: - Experience as a chef or cook in a busy commercial kitchen. - Knowledge of Vietnamese or Asian cooking is a strong advantage. - Good food safety practice and a clean, organised way of working. - Able to work a roster that includes evenings, weekends and public holidays. - Able to work legally in New Zealand.
