Cook

Bitter Sweet, a Vietnamese cafe and restaurant in Birkenhead, is looking for a Cook. Our menu runs from brunch to dinner, with pho, banh mi and other Vietnamese dishes. What you will do: - Prepare and cook dishes from our Vietnamese menu to recipe and presentation standards. - Prep fresh herbs, vegetables, sauces and broths ahead of each service. - Keep your section clean and follow food safety and hygiene rules. - Check stock, receive deliveries and help keep waste low. - Work with the front of house team so orders go out hot and on time. - Make banh mi with our homemade pate and pickles. What we are looking for: - Experience as a cook in a busy commercial kitchen. - Knowledge of Vietnamese or Asian cooking is a strong advantage. - Good food safety practice and a clean, organised way of working. - Able to work a roster that includes evenings, weekends and public holidays. - Able to work legally in New Zealand.
