Chef

Five Star in Rosedale, near Albany, is looking for a Chef. We serve Vietnamese dishes at lunch and a steamboat (hot pot) buffet in the evening. What you will do: - Run the kitchen during lunch service and the evening buffet. - Prepare broths, sauces, meat and seafood for the steamboat buffet and keep it stocked through the night. - Cook dishes from our Vietnamese menu to recipe and presentation standards. - Order stock, check deliveries and keep waste low. - Keep the kitchen clean and follow food safety and hygiene rules. What we are looking for: - Experience as a chef in a busy commercial kitchen. - Knowledge of Vietnamese cooking or hot pot is a strong advantage. - Calm under pressure and able to lead a small kitchen team. - Able to work a roster that includes evenings, weekends and public holidays. - Able to work legally in New Zealand.
