Chef

Viet-Thai Cuisine (Two Bamboo Restaurant) is looking for a Chef to join the kitchen at our restaurant, 118 King Street North, Hastings 4122. We cook Vietnamese and Thai food for guests who dine in and take away. You will be cooking our menu to a consistent standard and helping the kitchen run smoothly through every service. What you will do: - Prepare and cook dishes from our Vietnamese and Thai menu, keeping flavour and presentation consistent across services. - Prep fresh ingredients daily: herbs, vegetables, sauces, marinades and broths. - Keep the kitchen clean, organised and compliant with food safety standards, and keep an eye on stock and prep levels. - Work through busy lunch and dinner services alongside a small team, and help train kitchen hands as needed. What we are looking for: - Experience in a busy commercial kitchen. Vietnamese and Thai cuisine experience is useful but not essential — we will teach you our dishes. - Solid knife skills and knowledge of food hygiene and safe handling. - Calm and organised through a busy service, and able to work as part of a team. - Availability to work shifts across lunch and dinner, including weekends.
