Assistant Restaurant Manager

Banh Mi Caphe is looking for an Assistant Restaurant Manager to help run our restaurant, Shop 8, Riverbank Lane, 298 Victoria Street, Hamilton 3210. You will be the manager on the floor: greeting guests, running the service, and keeping the team working well together while the manager focuses on the wider picture. What you will do: - Lead service on the floor, from opening through to close, and make sure every guest feels looked after. - Take bookings and orders, manage the guest experience, and handle any feedback or complaints calmly and promptly. - Coordinate the front-of-house team, roster shifts, and coach new starters. - Work with the kitchen and the manager on menu, stock and ordering decisions. - Open and close the restaurant, including daily cash-up and compliance checks. What we are looking for: - Previous experience in a restaurant, cafe or bar, in a supervisor or assistant manager role. - Strong customer service skills and a genuine enjoyment of looking after people. - Confident with rostering, ordering and running a busy shift. - A calm, organised approach, and the ability to stay level-headed when it gets hectic. - Availability to work weekends and evenings, which is when we are busiest.
